ReSTART Central is dedicated to helping Lower Manhattan's small businesses rebuild following the events of September 11th. We deliver high-quality personalized technical assistance on an ongoing basis through the rebuilding process. We also plan and implement programs and events that help our client companies. Since September 2001, we have assisted over 1,200 businesses. Any business on or south of 14th Street in Manhattan with 50 or fewer employees is eligible for our assistance. We match each interested business with an experienced businessperson (a Business Advocate) who mentors the company one-on-one through the rebuilding process. The Business Advocate works with the owner to assess the business' specific rebuilding needs and to identify and resolve issues. He/she is someone the business owner can call for information, guidance and support. Working through the Business Advocates, we provide affected companies with free or discounted goods (furniture, computers, office equipment) and services (financial, legal, marketing, real estate, technology, etc.) to help them rebuild their business. Our services include: Business, Marketing and Sales Creative Services and Production Donated and Discounted Goods Finance and Accounting Human Resources Legal and Insurance Personal Real Estate, Construction and Property Management Technology Consulting The survival of downtown's small business community is critical to the revitalization of Lower Manhattan.
